Clan Duncan Gallery

Clan Duncan invites you into our personal past.

The spirit and the reality of Clan Duncan came from these dogs. None were perfect, but all had some superb excellence that furthered my dream. With one, it was shoulders to die for. With another, it was that long, arched neck, without which there can be no elegance. Another possessed extreme intelligence and rationality. (Yes, this trait is well worth breeding for.) With the next, it was overall balance and proportion. With yet another, it was calm serenity. (For over thirty years, I have selected for Shelties that do not bark excessively.) Still others possessed proper dentition and tooth alignment, coat factor, correct bone, long tail, correct rear, longevity, and other excellences. Some individuals contributed many, many excellences. So it began, and so it continues . . .

When you dream, there must be inspiration.

I will be adding to this page in months to come as I locate old images and restore others that have been damaged. Some of these Shelties are famous; some are obscure. All have helped make Shelties what they are today. I hope that those of you who have these Shelties in your pedigrees will enjoy seeing their photographs. For the time frame of each, position your mouse over the photograph.
