Here is our extremely sound and elegant young girl, Andie, sired by Ch. Lacewood the Star Maker ex Clan Duncan Constellation. Andie is Ramona's great-granddaughter (see bottom of page). Andie had an excellent show career and finished in February 2011 with a Group 2 and 8 Best of Breeds as a puppy, several more Best of Breeds as a yearling before fully coating back up -- and then flew to her Grand. Ch. in March 2011 before the age of two. She is the second bi-black female Grand Champion in the history of the breed.
She is now home to stay!. Andie is very fond of jumping up on high places and being the "queen." I must have been psychic when I decided that her cradle song would be "Rule, Britannia!" ;>)
Rachel is by Cherden Thunder Run ex the Ghost Girl Ramona, seen at the bottom of this page. She is a littermate to Ch. Freddie (seen on the Boys Page), Glitter (below), and Clan Duncan Dark Skies (Frankie, at Davishall). Rachel is at Davishall with her co-owners. Above, here's Rachel in April 2011 when she went Best of Breed from the classes for a 4-pt major at the SSC of Greater Ft. Worth under Linda Churchill, handled by her co-owner. Rachel finished her championship in the late summer of 2011.
Our lovely, sound 14 1/2" Glitter is litter sister to Ch. Freddie and to Rachel, above. Glitter is co-owned with Davishall Shelties in Louisiana. Glitter produced a stunning blue male for Davishall, "Zorro" (pts), better known as Davishall Incognito, and some very nice little girls for us (Melora, Josie, Cinders, and Blondie). Glitter has just begun her show career and has major points. She has a very sweet and gentle personality.
Melora is Glitter's daughter by Ch. Lynroc Heart and Soul. Our cute little VERY sound Melora (pictured at ten months), is co-owned with Timbre Shelties in Indiana, and lives there. Melora is an Int. Puppy Ch. This photo was taken by Wanda Hathcock.
These next two girls are the Merlinettes, from our only litter by our late, beloved Clan Duncan Halloween, who traced directly to our own old dogs. Their dam was Rowena, Clan Duncan Cherden New Moon (whom we sadly lost last fall). Above is little Imp. Aptly named by Scott, this miniature tornado is always into mischief! Like Andie, Imp likes heights, and loves to jump up on anything and pose. Imp is sound, sound, sound, and is 13" if poked gently in the tummy to make her stand on tiptoe. She is the dam of young Eve and Raven.
Candy is just as sound as her litter sister Imp, but excels in persistence and a calm, driving energy. She is one of our water-lovers. Candy is one of the most intelligent dogs we have ever had. She, too, is very sound and would have made a great working sheepdog, but must content herself with rounding us up!
Tardy is also a Rowena daughter. She is seen here in an unposed snapshot at 11 months. We need a new photo of Tardy! Her sire is Cherden Thunder Run. Tardy has left awkward puppyhood behind and is most elegant and very sound. Tardy loves, loves, loves to be cuddled, and is very gentle.
Meet Dora, Andie's lovely litter sister, seen above ungroomed, halfway shed out of her puppy coat. Dora is very bright and curious. If there is something new around here, Dora got there before we did! She got her name because as a baby, she was The Explorer, with a capital E! Her partner in crime, litter brother Diego, can be seen on the Boys Page.
This is young Puff, by Ch. Kismet's Zarak ex Clan Duncan Figurine (sister to Verity, below). Puff's nickname around here is "Fur Dog," or Puff Fur Dog," as she is usually all puffy with fur. Puff is a very affectionate girl with a strong, "look at me" personality. We plan for her to enter the show ring with her next coat. This is an informal photo taken on the front porch.
Here is our firecracker young producer, Lyra, by the Keaton son Bellevue's Midnight Vaquero (by Am/Can. Ch. Trilight Strike A Clear Note) ex Clan Duncan Ixiolirion (Ch. Glenesk Darkfall x Ramona). Lyra is the dam of GCh. Andie, Dora, Pirate, and Diego by Ch. Lacewood the Star Maker, plus Clan Duncan Midsummer Night (Neddie) by our Ch. Freddie. We can hardly wait for her next time around. Lyra is a sweet and gentle girl with beautiful eyes, elegant neck, a head smooth as glass, and very, VERY VERY good movement.
Here is little Verity, by our dear, departed Blue Sky ex Royal Oaks Deja Vu. Verity is 14" of elegant neck, luxiurant fur coat, graceful movement, and sweet personality. Verity lives with her co-owner Lacey Mowrer and loves to go for long walks in the foothills. Lacey lives nearby, so we see Verity often. Verity is bored with the show ring, so will have to rest on her laurels as an International Champion.
Above is our sound and elegant bi-blue girl by the beautiful Ch. Apple Acres Odyssey Armani, ROM, ROMC. We searched for YEARS to find a quality, well-bred girl whose pedigree went straight back on the tail-female line to our foundation dogs so that we could recapture our old line! Callie tail-females to our foundation bitch Banchory Half Moon, and also includes in her pedigree our other foundation bitch Banchory Bonny of Clan Duncan CD, plus as a bonus, two of our very favorite Thunder Blue daughters, Clan Duncan Blackberry Bi and her daughter Clan Duncan Coal and Diamonds. Int. Ch. Callie is co-owned with Marilyn Ryan in Washington. She is the dam of Clan Duncan River Styx, Clan Duncan Night Gown, Clan Duncan River of No Return, and little Clan Duncan Ghost Soldier.
Grace is the daughter of Thunder Run and Rebecca (see bottom of page). Grace is almost-sister to Rachel, Glitter, Frankie, and Ch. Freddie, and litter sister to our very correct Ch. Galen, pictured on the Boys Page. She finished in 11 shows with a 4-pt and a 5-pt major, and recently finished her International Championship. Gracie is owned by Cherden and is there now. She is pictured above with her handler Dottie Adkins. Grace excels in movement, elegance, smooth lean skull, and -- well, grace (even though at times she is rather goofy)!
Above you see our littermate "new foundation" girls, known at home as the Ghost Girls -- light of step, fleet of foot, so sound that they are seemingly fashioned from a breath of wind. These are Rowena (left) Ramona, and Rebecca (the tri). The Ghost Girls were sired by our dear departed Int. Ch. Caviar's Blue Sky Lark out of Cherden Layla's Song, and sport what we call an "old-family Banchory/Cherden pedigree," with the rare tail-female line going back to Pow's dam and thence to the great producer Timberidge Crown Jewel . The Ghost Girls carry some pedigree lines very precious to us, and have character that we are proud to build upon. Becca is owned by Cherden and lives there. Little Rowena, greatly missed, went to the Rainbow Bridge last fall. Ramona is here, very much cherished. We have been rebuilding the line upon their strengths, as can be seen above.
