Clan Duncan Sheltie Rainbow Bridge Page

Duncan and I learn to jump, 1969.

Banchory Duncan Macduff CDX

Duncan (Ch. Philidove Heir Presumptive x Banchory Apache Tears) was a genius. He is the reason for Clan Duncan, and I will never forget him. There was no such thing as an obedience champion in those days, but Duncan won more Highest in Trial than I can remember. He had a vocabulary of over 200 words, and once saved his dog, Heather, from certain death. In 30 years, I have seen all too many Shelties go to the Rainbow Bridge, and if I could, I would call them all back. First would be Duncan.

Cory, Joan, and Toby

Joan Archer and her two tri UDs--what a combo! The fellows were Clan Duncan Wrongway Corigan UD (Banchory High Power x Can. Ch. Banchory Enchanted Evening II) and Piper's Toby O' Archer UD (Maramet Moon Shadow x Clan Duncan Silver Scarf). Who could forget Joanie's hilarious "Spy vs Spy" routine, where Cory and Toby went into the audience depositing and stealing a "top secret" envelope! I have not forgotten, and I assure you: if I ever find the person who foully murdered Joan (at age 26, when her life was just beginning), I will not rest until that monster pays.

Who are the Shelties that appear in the banners in this site? All are waiting at the bridge. They are, in order: Home=Clan Duncan Blackberry Bi and Ch. Banchory Blue Ballad CD; Boys=Clan Duncan Midnight Special; Girls=Clan Duncan Baby Blue; Puppies=Clan Duncan Miss Kitty and Clan Duncan Silver City (top), Clan Duncan Sheer Sorcery (end); Web Art=Clan Duncan Silver Standard; Funnies=Clan Duncan Dragonslayer; History=Ch. Banchory Thunder Blue ROM; Rainbow Bridge=Clan Duncan Midnight Special. I miss them all, and this helps me to remember them.
